What you should expect.

Whether this is your first time hiring a photographer or not, I think its important you know what you’re getting into first to make sure we are a good fit for each other. I want you to tell your story in the way you deserve.

If you’re just wanting a photographer to take the typical, posed, smiling “perfect looking” shots, we might not be the best fit. If you’re shopping around just trying to find the cheapest deal, there are cheaper photographers than me around.

But if you looking for something unique or out of the ordinary, a photographer who cares about her craft, and wants to create an experience with you and capture the memories you deserve then I’d love to work with you.

Lifestyle session are natural and relaxed.

Lifestyle session are natural and relaxed.

I only take on a few sessions per month.

I do this because I am a Mum to 5 gorgeous kids and this is my part-time gig.

I do this because no family is the same and I love to give my clients the attention they deserve.

I do this because I hand edit all of my sessions to complete painterly feel to each image.

I do this because I am a creative heart rather than a business woman and I love being creative.

some FAQ’s

+ What should we wear to a family photo sesssion?

Start with a neutral colour palette like soft greys, blues, creams, whites, navy, browns etc and then we can add pops of colour. You don’t want to match everyone in the same colour but play with the same hue of colour. Add layers of different textures like soft cottons and linens for summer or chunky knits and scarves for winter. Florals and patterns also work well – basically, be YOU! I have a simple but helpful guideline which I send to all of my clients.

+ What time is the best for a sunrise or sunset session?

You want to start your session either 90 minutes before sunset, and up to 90 minuters after sunrise. Why? Golden light! My outdoor sessions are always during this golden hour, and create that dreamy-light-filled feel to images.

+ What is the best location for a family photo session?

Where is your favourite place to spend time with your family? If home is where your heart is, then let’s meet there. If you love the outdoors and you have a sense of adventure, then your favourite place to play is the best spot. I send all of my clients a simple questionnaire to get to know you and work out the location for your session. It needs to mean something to you; to be part of your story!

+ What is the best time for a maternity or newborn session?

Maternity shoots are best taken at the 30-36 week mark, for your comfort, mobility and a those beautiful bumps shots. For newborn sessions, I love photographing them at their most squishy, around the 1-2 week mark but with lifestyle sessions you can schedule a session up to the 6-8 weeks of age. Make sure you book your newborn session while you are still pregnant – at the moment I book out 6-8 weeks in advance.

+ What if my children are having a bad day?

I am a Mum to 5, and there is not much that I haven't seen from my kids. So, don't worry, I know kids have bad days. I have a diploma in the art of distraction and use it all the time to get kids involved during the session. These sessions are fun and move quickly. I encourage silliness, and bad jokes. Your job is to relax and snuggle up to your family. I never rush the start of a session, and take some time before I pull out me camera. I want your children to feel comfortable and will get to know them a little before we start.

+ What if one of them is sick?

Let me know 24 hours in advance and we can reschedule.

+ What if the weather gods aren't on our side?

If it is wet and soggy, we will reschedule. If it is hot, we will find some shade. If it is overcast but dry, we will go ahead as some of my favourite sessions have taken place on cloudy days.

+ My Mum wants a photo to frame with us all looking at the camera and saying cheese. Do you do this?

I encourage you to look at my portfolio and see the types of images that I capture. I do include one or two traditional portrait shots in each session but I am not a traditional photographer. My style is soft focus, emotive, detailed, and relaxed. I honesty I want you to look at your family and love on them. My style isn't for everyone and I encourage you to find a photographer whose style sets your heart on fire.

+ Do you service my area?

I’m based in Sydney, and love to explore! I’ve taken photos in beautiful locations across all of Sydney, including the Hills District, Northern Beaches, and the Eastern Suburbs. I also travel to the Blue Mountains, plus Windsor and Richmond. Basically, I love to go where you it matters to you; homes, beaches, the bush, pretty parks, fields, and farms.

+ Availability for sessions?

I am available for family & maternity lifestyle sessions on the weekend, plus Newborn and Motherhood lifestyle session on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

+ How do I book a session?

Get in touch via the contact form to book me as your newborn, maternity or family photographer. Your lifestyle session is confirmed as soon as you’ve paid the deposit and completed the session agreement. From there, we will chat to work out the details including locations, outfits and timelines. I have a limited number of sessions per month so please contact me 6 to 8 weeks in advance.
